How to disable the visual editor in WordPress

Ever get tired of having to select the HTML tab when you are creating a new post in WordPress? The solution is simple, disable the Visual Editor. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Log into your WordPress Admin
  2. Click on USERS
  3. Click on YOUR PROFILE from the Users sub-menu
  4. On the Profile page, simply click the check box next to Visual Editor [ ] Disable the visual editor when writing.

Save it the settings and you are done. FYI – I’ve only tested this in WordPress 2.7.1, not sure if it works the same way in older builds.

WordPress Specialized Web Hosting With wpwebhost.com

wpwebhost.com is a web hosting company tailored for WordPress users. Their freedom plan includes 50GBs of web space, 500 GBs of monthly bandwidth, up to 50 hosted domain names, WordPress compatible server, and a WordPress savvy support team. The plan starts from $5.83 a month. Here’s some more info from wpwebhost.com:

We are a hosting company specialized in hosting websites powered by WordPress. Our servers are configured with WordPress in mind. On top of that, our WordPress-savvy support team will help your issues with WordPress, from installation to configuration, themes to plugins. Quite simply, we are made for WordPress.

They have also recently setup an affiliate program. Cardeo is now a member and we give two thumbs up to their hosting service. A couple other features they offer are: One click WordPress Installation, and 100 day money back guarantee! Definitely worth checking out as a blog hosting solution.

What You Can Expect in 2009

Well thankfully 2008 is over and we are onto 2009. Cardeo has been live as a design blog for about 4 months now and the response has been great. I’d like to thank all my readers and subscribers for helping make the website a success.

My plan for 2009 is to concentrate on a number of things that are listed below. If you would like to suggest any other types of content please do so in the comments. Happy New Year!

1. A website redesign – This is a big one. Now that the website has been live for a few months, there are a number of improvements I would like to make. Those are going to require a redesign which you can look for over the next couple months.

2. New WordPress Themes! I’m going to try my best to release at least 1 new theme a month. Minimal seems to be everyone’s favorite, so look for that style to be used often.

3. New Website Templates! Same goes for templates.

4. New Vector Packs! At least one a month is the plan.

5. More content in general.

Thanks!
