People usually tend to go overboard with the grunge look, so I’m kind of over that whole style. However, this new theme really caught my eye. It uses some subtle grunge textures, while maintaining a really modern looking layout. Definitely worth adding to your library of themes. You can download it for free from blogperfume.com.

Die Neue Typographie WordPress Theme

Minimal layout fans rejoice! I stumbled onto this little jem lately and needed to share it. An amazing, minimal website template from hellyeahdude.com named Die Neue Typographie. Inspired from the Swiss Graphic Design style that I love so much and available as a free download! Officially my new favorite theme, make sure you grab it. Oh yeah, it also comes in a white version if you prefer.

Updated September 2, 2010 — the link to the demo page on hellyeahdude.com is broken. I tried to find the new link but it looks like it may have been removed from the website. Anyhow, I was able to locate a direct download link for the theme which is below.

Cardeo Minimal is the first in a series of minimal WordPress themes that I plan to release. Special features include Twitter status integration. NEW Cardeo Minimal is now available as a regular website template too!

Additional Instructions

How to change the Twitter feed to your account:

• Open the cardeo-minimal directory and open the footer.php file
• Find this line of code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/mlambert.json?callback=twitterCallback2&amp;count=1"></script>
• My Twitter username is mlambert. Change mlambert to whatever your Twitter username is.
• Save the file and upload it back to the cardeo-minimal theme folder, overwriting the old footer.php.
• Go to your website and hit refresh, your Twitter account info should now appear.

Update November 18, 2008 – There is a small known issue with this theme on some webhosts. Upon installation an error message will appear, when you view the live website, referring to an issue with the functions.php file. I’m working on fixing this for version 2.0, but for now, just delete the functions.php from the cardeo-minimal theme folder and you will be good to go. thanks
