Now the the new blog design is live, I wanted to update my categories. When I started this blog, a little over a year ago, I basically guessed at what I would write about. Now that some time has gone by, I have a better idea about the subjects I like to blog about, and I’ve adjusted my categories to better suit my content. Here’s a rough breakdown of the new categories…

Awesome

Basically anything I find awesome, from a cool web app to an awesome youtube.com video.

Code

This category kind of replaces the previous Web Design category. Under here you’ll find posts on css, html, php, and more.

Design

This is a new category that will feature stories on graphic design, the grid, Photoshop tutorials, and Illustrator tips.

Freebies

I decided it would be better to group all my freebies into one category. This is the place to go for free WordPress themes, website templates, vectors, and fonts.

Freelance

This is another new category that will offer tips for freelance designers.

Hustlin’

The Hustlin’ category is inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk and his book Crush It!. Here you’ll find tips on building a successful blog and personal brand online. The first tip is easy, buy Gary’s book it rules.

Minimal

My minimal themes, templates, and posts have been some of my most popular content. Therefore, I decided to create a new category dedicated to minimal design.

Social Media

This one is straight forward, talk on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media websites.

WordPress Themes

This is the only category I’m carrying over. Here you’ll find free WordPress themes, from designers around the world.

What You Can Expect in 2009

Well thankfully 2008 is over and we are onto 2009. Cardeo has been live as a design blog for about 4 months now and the response has been great. I’d like to thank all my readers and subscribers for helping make the website a success.

My plan for 2009 is to concentrate on a number of things that are listed below. If you would like to suggest any other types of content please do so in the comments. Happy New Year!

1. A website redesign – This is a big one. Now that the website has been live for a few months, there are a number of improvements I would like to make. Those are going to require a redesign which you can look for over the next couple months.

2. New WordPress Themes! I’m going to try my best to release at least 1 new theme a month. Minimal seems to be everyone’s favorite, so look for that style to be used often.

3. New Website Templates! Same goes for templates.

4. New Vector Packs! At least one a month is the plan.

5. More content in general.
