It’s been to long since I published a decent Cardeo freebie. Good news, The time has come! CSS3 MInimal Admin is a single page template that can easily be implemented as a backend admin. The template is completely free, with one small catch :) You need to sign up for the Cardeo Mailing List to get the download link. Read on for a list of features and instructions how to download.

Swiss Inspired Minimal 404 Pages

Have you heard of graphicriver.net? It’s an awesome marketplace for stock graphics, design templates, textures, vectors, icons, presentation templates, fonts, and much more. If you’re in a time pinch on a project, or simply need some help, it’s a really affordable option for graphics of all kinds. Swiss Inspired Minimal 404 Pages

The idea here was to create a series of swiss inspired 404 pages. I went with the traditional white, red and black color schemes that our common in that genre. The line Seite Nicht Gefunden is german for Page Not Found. There are 12 options in total, each is a fully layered in Photoshop CS4 format. Each 404 page is optimized for 1024×768 resolution, but they are easily editable for any size you’d like to use. The font used for all is Helvetica – if you’re on a PC, I guess you could also use Arial if you really had too. Check out the screenshot below. Now the the new blog design is live, I wanted to update my categories. When I started this blog, a little over a year ago, I basically guessed at what I would write about. Now that some time has gone by, I have a better idea about the subjects I like to blog about, and I’ve adjusted my categories to better suit my content. Here’s a rough breakdown of the new categories…

Awesome

Basically anything I find awesome, from a cool web app to an awesome youtube.com video.

Code

This category kind of replaces the previous Web Design category. Under here you’ll find posts on css, html, php, and more.

Design

This is a new category that will feature stories on graphic design, the grid, Photoshop tutorials, and Illustrator tips.

Freebies

I decided it would be better to group all my freebies into one category. This is the place to go for free WordPress themes, website templates, vectors, and fonts.

Freelance

This is another new category that will offer tips for freelance designers.

Hustlin’

The Hustlin’ category is inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk and his book Crush It!. Here you’ll find tips on building a successful blog and personal brand online. The first tip is easy, buy Gary’s book it rules.

Minimal

My minimal themes, templates, and posts have been some of my most popular content. Therefore, I decided to create a new category dedicated to minimal design.

Social Media

This one is straight forward, talk on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media websites.

Welcome to the new Cardeo Blog

Well it’s been a little over year since I started this blog, so I was thinking it was time for an updated look. My main goal was to improve the typography and to make the layout more minimal.

Currently, I’m still in Beta mode and will be doing some testing over the next few days, so please bear with me. If you notice any bugs, it would be much appreciated if you could post them as a comment on this post. I’m also open to feedback on the new design. Thanks for reading!
