Easily insert special characters into your code using copypastecharacter.com

The awesome, free tools just keep on showing up in my rss feeds today. Copypastecharacter.com is a great little free service for quickly generating special characters. If you’re like me, I’m sick of looking up ascii codes when I want to insert a character, and I’m even more sick of trying to memorize them!
Copypastecharacter.com gives you the option of copying the html code to your clip board, which you can then easily paste into your html code. This tool is going to save me alot of frustration!

Easily generate a CSS sitemap using Slickmap

Finally! I’ve been looking for a tool like this for awhile now. There’s always the jumpchart.com option, but it’s not free. Astuteo.com has answered my prayers, and released a free CSS sitemap tool. Here’s some additional info:
“SlickMap CSS is a simple stylesheet for displaying finished sitemaps directly from HTML unordered list navigation. It’s suitable for most web sites – accommodating up to three levels of page navigation and additional utility links – and can easily be customized to meet your own individual needs, branding, or style preferences.”

Free Typographic XHTML/CSS-Layouts For Your Designs
Another free web design resource from Smashing Magazine. Make sure you check this one out and download a few of the free type based web layouts.
“In May we announced the Typographic Layout Design Contest that aimed to collect beautiful typographic (X)HTML+CSS-based layouts created by the design community and release them for free as a gift for the web design community. The response was overwhelming and we really had a hard time going through the designs, analyzing them and deciding which templates deserve the awards. Unfortunately, many templates were just copies of the current designer’s blog and some weren’t related to typography at all. So in the end many templates didn’t make it to this post.
However, we did receive a number of brilliant typographic templates that we are happy to release for free download and personal and commerical use as the gift for the web design community. We hope that these templates will help you to improve the quality of typography in your future designs!”
Amazing icon resource
Webdesigntuts.com has put together an amazing icon post. There’s several free icon sets available for download, tutorials on designing your own icons, and some great examples of icon use in web design. Make sure you check it out.
