September 13th, 2008

When you are working on a large project in Photoshop, using layer groups is a must. Here is a quick-tip on how to quickly create a layer group from multiple layers.

Follow these steps:

  • Select all the layers that you would like to include in your new layer group. You can use shift + click to select multiple layers. Another option is to hit apple + click to to select individual layers (ctrl + click for PC I believe).
  • With your layers selected, choose New Group From Layers from the drop-down menu on the Layer pallete.
  • A New Group From Layers overlay will appear. Give you new group a name and hit ok. You’re done! Enjoy your new Layer Group.
