Cardeo Standard WordPress Theme
Cardeo Standard is the second in my series of free WordPress Themes. It’s inspired by swiss graphic design and typography. Only special feature you will find with this theme is the fact that there is only one post per page. Enjoy!
If you find this theme useful, please consider buying me a beer

I actually designed to just have one post appear per page. I can provide you with a version that does multiple for the archive page if you like? It’s a quick fix.

Hi, I love this theme but am having some issues with WP 2.6.X.
I’m getting a ‘headers already sent’ error, and complains about functions.php. It occurs only when demo’ing this theme, and seems to primarily effect the admin (creating/updating/deleting posts/pages/etc). Has anyone else experienced this?
I’m not very WP savvy, but know PHP enough to fix things once someone points me in the right direction. Is it truly a theme related issue? A bug with WP 2.6.X? Or (a stretch) could it be my PHP config (PHP Version 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.3)?
Thanks for your great work!

Hey Brian, this would be the first time I’ve heard that problem. Are all the problems with the Admin panel? If so, that would lead me to believe there was a problem with your install or perhaps your host.
By demoing do you mean the preview in the theme picker, within the admin? If that is the case, I’d try installing the theme and see if the same problem happens. try a couple other themes as well to see if you get the same problem.

Hi Matt,
First off, LOVE the themes! It’s so hard to find good themes that both functional and well designed (read : cool).
I am having the same problem as Brian (above). I am pretty familiar with WP, I have had a WP.com blog for about a year, but this is my first attempt at hosting my own.
I have loaded some other themes to test and they work fine. When I load yours, I get an error message when I try to do anything from the admin page (switch themes/ write posts/manage pages, etc):
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by ……on line 770
any suggestions?
Thanks!
Lauren

hmmm weird, if you guys wanna give me access to your admin i’ll check it out. however, i don’t think its possible for a theme to mess up your admin. i would guess it is an install or hosting problem.

Hi Matt,
I’ve tried 2.6, 2.6.1, and 2.6.2 (latest). And yeah, I’ve tried a bunch of themes without any issues. It would be convenient to say it’s your theme, but it’s too early. I agree… it’s odd that a theme would effect the admin.
I’m on the road and won’t be able to troubleshoot much until Sunday (at the earliest). I’ll PM you some screenshots and my phpinfo(), but can’t give you access to my admin at the moment.

Okay, I was able to test hastily on Windows XP using WampServer and WP 2.6.2. It works fine. So it’s likely a config nuance with my Ubuntu environment.
Lauren, are you using Ubuntu as well? The repository build of PHP has been hardened with a 3rd party patch. I wonder if that’s the culprit?
I’ll be back…

Thanks for that feedback Brian – Have any of you tried any of my other themes? I’m wondering if their might be a problem across the board.

Hi, so deleting the functions.php file from the theme folder will fix this problem that people have been having. I’m not sure what the conflict is but subscribe to the comments here and I’ll post whatever fixes I find. thanks

I can confirm that deleting functions.php resolves the issue.

Hello! I use Cardeo Standar, but when I click on files and categories keep returning to the first page. There any way to fix this? You can visit my page and check it yourself.
Thank you!

So I am NOT as savvy as many of the other posters…I’m just a simple minded architect lookin’ to do some blogging on various interests, etc. Is the WordPress CSS easy to install? WordPress told me there were no possiblities to ‘import’ a theme so I’m assuming you wrote this in WordPress? if so, once I upgrade my account is it easy enough to import for use?
Also, am I understanding that there is only one post per page? Any ability to scroll through posts or must old posts be viewed via ‘archive’?
Again, not a web designer so any dumb info would be worth its weight in gold.
Thanks again for all the rockin’ goods. dig it.

Hi Brandon, if you’re new to web design, setting up a wordpress blog can be quite complicated. If I was you, I’d probably use WordPress’ self-hosted option. If you head over to wordpress.com, you can sign up for a blog that WordPress hosts for you (ie: yourblog.wordpress.com). I believe you can also register your own domain elsewhere and point it at your wordpress blog – so yourblog.com would redirect to yourblog.wordpress.com. Hope that helps – the wordpress self hosted solution is also free.

Hi Brandon, unfortunately no xml version of wordpress. WordPress is built with php and css is used to control the formatting.

Hmmm. First up, love the simplicity of the theme. Second. Had a quick play, and archives don’t seem to be displaying properly? Url seems okay (url/year/month) but the page only displays the most recent post.
And who’s Gary, praytell?
