Cardeo Public WordPress Theme
Cardeo Public is the first in an ongoing series of Free Wordpress Themes that I plan on releasing. Public is a minimal theme that includes Twitter and Flickr integration. Please feel free to donate a a couple of bucks if you want to show some love.
:)
How to change the Twitter feed to your account:
- Open the cardeo-public directory and open the footer.php file
- Find this line of code:
<script type=”text/javascript”..user_timeline/mlambert.json?.. - My Twitter username is mlambert.
- Change mlambert to whatever your Twitter username is.
- Save the file and upload it back to the cardeo-public theme folder, over-writing the old footer.php file on the server.
- Go to your website and hit refresh, your Twitter account info should now appear.
How to change the Flickr feed to your account:
- Open the cardeo-public directory and open the sidebar.php file
- Find this line of code:
<script type=”text/javascript”..user=47244499%40N00″></script> - My Flickr account ID is 47244499%40N00 (at the end of the line of code).
- Change my account ID to whatever your flickr account ID is.
- Save the file and upload it back to the cardeo-public theme folder, over-writing the old sidebar.php file on the server.
- Go to your website and hit refresh. You might have to wait 20-30 mins to see any results it takes a little time for Flickr to recognize that the account has changed.

I just posted an update to the theme that fixes a line-height bug on the H1 in Internet Explorer 7. Download the new version and over-write the style.css file on your server.

I’m new to this Wordpress game but is there a way to replace the blog title and tag line with an image? Great theme btw!

Hi, yep you can replace it with an image. The main header is found between the <h1></h1> tags. Replace the tags, and the text between them with your image tag.
The blog description is found between the <h3></h3> tags. Replace the tags, and the text between them with your image tag.
Both of those elements can be found in the header.php file. Keep in mind if you replace the <h1> tag with an image, it may negatively effect the SEO of your website.

Hi there
I love this theme – but I’m very new to Wordpress and I’m struggling.
I’d adapted the header to show my logo – it did work – but now I’m getting the following error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/claireba/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/cardeo-public/functions.php:11) in /home/claireba/public_html/blog/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 865
Any idea what this is?
Thanks
Claire
