Adding A Facebook Badge To Your Website
October 20th, 2008
Time for another quick tip. I’m going to show you how to add a facebook badge to your website. The badge will display your profile picture, your name and your current status.
First things first, log into your facebook account and go to: . Once the page loads, click on the “create badge” button. Next you are going to see a list of options. Go with the following or customize it any way you like.
Customizing your badge
- Choose Horizontal for the Layout.
- Choose Image for the format. I recommend the image option as it will load faster and not bog down your website with additional javascript.
- Choose Profile Pic from the Items drop down menu.
Finally hit Save and voila your badge is done. Now select the code that is generated, copy it, then paste it wherever you would like it to appear on your website. This version is simply an image that lists the settings you applied. If you would like an actual text and image based version, choose Javascript from the Format option, on the previous screen. That’s it, create as many badges as you like for your website.
